With a strong knowledge of the green transition and years of experience from the energy and communications industry, Regitze will contribute to Harbour Energy’s work to realise Denmark and Europe’s ambitious climate goals.
Harbour Energy plays a key role in carbon capture and storage (CCS) in Denmark, working on both onshore and offshore CCS projects through partnerships with INEOS Energy and Nordsøfonden. In her new role, Regitze Reeh will strengthen the communication and stakeholder relationships that are crucial to the success of these projects.
Regitze Reeh says to K-forum:
“We have been commissioned by the Danish Energy Agency to investigate whether it is possible to store CO2 permanently in the subsoil in that area. This has required many guarantees, including financial ones, which means we have to do things properly to avoid the guarantees being triggered.”
“While some citizens will understand the need to store CO2 in the subsoil to mitigate climate change, they will probably find it difficult to live on top of such a storage facility. It’s a human reaction to be uncomfortable with new technologies.”
