NIRAS’ biologists will focus in particular on bats, amphibians and botany. The surveys will take place during the day, but to take account of the animals’ movements, it may in some cases be necessary to carry out surveys at dusk or at night. Fieldwork will be carried out on foot and only to a limited extent by driving on farm tracks.
The purpose of the surveys is to map conditions in the area as part of the work to identify opportunities for establishing a geological CO2 storage site.
The landowners concerned have been informed directly.
